ICTE-UQ has partnered with Cambridge English Language Assessment to provide flexible and modular blended teacher training options to suit your institution’s needs.

The online training programs can provide an introduction to topics before face-to-face training, while post-training modules can be used to consolidate learning.

Online training modules include ICTE-UQ trainer support and can be blended with face-to-face training delivered in Brisbane, or at your school or university.   All participants receive a digital badge from Cambridge English for each successfully completed module.

Our blended teacher training programs include:

Certificate in English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI Skills)

EMI Skills complements ICTE-UQ’s CLIL and CLIL Higher Ed training programs.   The online program is designed for academic faculty whose first language is not English.  EMI Skills will help university academics develop their English language skills for teaching subject content in English.

The online programs can be customised to suit individual training needs, with institutions and participants being able to choose to do all or only some of the modules available.

The complete course contains 8 modules, and approximately 40 hours of online study, tasks and ICTE-UQ trainer support.

Certificate in English Language Teaching - Primary (CELT-P) and Secondary (CELT-S)

CELT-S and CELT-P are designed for primary and secondary English language teachers from non-English speaking backgrounds and supplement ICTE-UQ’s EMTP and JEMTP training programs (English and Methodology for TESOL Purposes).

The programs give teachers the opportunity to refresh and build their teaching knowledge, skills and confidence through a series of online modules.  Teachers will examine their own teaching contexts, materials and learners as they work through the online tasks.

The complete CELT-S course has 8 modules and CELT-P has 9 modules. Each module contains 12-15 hours of online study and tasks, and includes ICTE-UQ trainer support.

The online courses are flexible and can be customised to suit the training needs of individuals and institutions. It is possible to complete some or all of the modules in each course.
