New Zealand English language teacher announced as lucky winner of scholarship

A unique professional development opportunity for a New Zealand English language teacher has been developed through a UQ-ICTE International Diploma for Language Teaching Management (IDLTM) scholarship. Ms Tenille Sanio from New Zealand Language Centre (NZLC) was recently announced as the lucky winner of the scholarship after entering the competition. The IDLTM competition was run earlier this year by UQ-ICTE and open to English language teachers based in New Zealand.

The scholarship was formed through the sister city relationship between Auckland-Brisbane and created in conjunction with the Brisbane City Council. Director of UQ-ICTE, Julian Wilson, joined the Honourable Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Cr Graham Quirk, on the mission to Auckland where the scholarship prize was presented to Ms Sanio.

Mr Chai Isarabhakdi, UQ-ICTE Acting Manager, Marketing Development said that, “this is a unique opportunity for Ms Sanio and we are grateful for the generous sponsorship from the Brisbane City Council, Air New Zealand and Student One.”

The UQ-ICTE tuition scholarship is part of a package which also includes return economy class airfares from Auckland to Brisbane with Air New Zealand, and six nights of accommodation with Student One in Brisbane.

Ms Sanio will be arriving in September to commence the International Diploma for Language Teaching Management (IDLTM) program at UQ-ICTE.

The UQ-ICTE IDLTM is a NEAS premium endorsed product.
