International Students Meet Parliament

International students from over 40 countries met with The Honourable Kate Jones, Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development and Minister for the Commonwealth Games and Ministerial Champion for International Education and Training at Study Queensland’s ‘International Students Meet Parliament’ event.

The International Students Meet Parliament (ISMP), was part of the third Queensland International Student Leaders’ Forum taking place across two days. This year’s theme was Global Talent, Global Skills, Global Workforce.

The ISMP event offers a unique opportunity for international and domestic students, industry and government to come together and celebrate the important role that Queensland's international education and training sector provides in enhancing intercultural understanding and multiculturalism in Queensland.

ICTE’s Director, Julian Wilson, said the event “was a great opportunity to listen and learn from international students and discuss ways we can improve the student experience”.

This year, three scholarship students from ICTE attended the ISMP event. Celine, Junho and Jerome were granted a scholarship at ICTE as part of the annual Sister City Scholarship fund sponsored by the Brisbane City Council.
