Joel joined the UQ International Development team in 2015, and provides technical, financial and logistical management for international capacity building and training programs within the unit and is involved in business development and program design.

Joel has coordinated a number of short courses in Papua New Guinea and Pakistan and long-term projects in Tonga and Mongolia, he provides logistical support for APEC regional workshops, and leads the development of internal database and financial tracking systems.

Prior to joining UQ, Joel worked in Rwanda, delivering education and sport-related projects for refugees and youth, and as a refugee youth capacity building officer in Brisbane. His other career experience includes roles as a refugee consultant, chaplain and cadet civil engineer.
