Ruth has been a TESOL language teacher since 1997. She began her English teaching career in Japan where she worked as an EFL teacher, before taking up a position at ICTE- UQ in Brisbane. Ruth has taught on a variety of English programs and taught to a wide range of age groups. Her special interest has been in the area of IELTS and she has been involved with teaching and testing of IELTS at ICTE-UQ for a number of years. Ruth comes from a background in mainstream LOTE teaching where she taught Japanese language for 10 years.
Since joining ICTE-UQ, Ruth has supported students on the Bridging English Program, English for Academic Purposes and General English. Ruth has a strong interest in teacher training and has completed the Cambridge Train the Trainer Certificate.
