Maree is a TESOL language teacher at UQ-ICTE. She has considerable experience in teacher training and academic preparation in Australia and overseas, including specialised academic programs to meet the needs of mixed linguistic ability tertiary students from a variety of disciplines. She holds a Master of Education degree from Deakin University and a Master of Applied Linguistics (TESOL) from Macquarie University.

In the course of her career at UQ-ICTE, Maree has delivered, developed materials for, and coordinated modules for the Bridging English Program, a UQ direct entry program for international students. She has a special interest and expertise in IELTS, English for Specific and Academic Purposes, Content Language Integrated Learning, and materials development.

Prior to commencing at UQ-ICTE, Maree taught English language classes at the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE (GCIT), and undergraduate English classes at Bond University. Previous to that, her international career saw her develop and deliver: English extension courses for teachers at the Swiss School and German School in Singapore; CELTA and Introductory TEFL courses for the British Council in Singapore; and grammar workshops for Singaporean secondary teachers. In addition, she taught General English and Academic Preparation classes for the British Council in Singapore and Hong Kong.
