Fiona has been a TESOL language teacher since 1998. Fiona began her teaching career in tertiary English language centres in Australia, before taking up positions in New Zealand and Japan. Fiona has led professional development initiatives and fulfilled various roles in education management over the last decade. From 2009 to 2015, she was the Coordinator of Professional Learning at RMIT University Vietnam, where she was responsible for teacher development and training.

Since joining ICTE-UQ in April 2015, Fiona has supported students on the Bridging English Program, English for Engineering, Masters of Chinese Translation and Interpretation, Masters of Applied Linguistics, and TESOL Methodology programs. She has also delivered programs in Content and Language Integrated Learning for Higher Education at our partner institutions in China and Vietnam.  She was recently appointed as the Coordinator Teacher Training and Professional Development at ICTE-UQ.

Fiona's publications to date have focused on task-based learning and curriculum development in Southeast Asia, though her current doctoral research is focused on the professional learning of teachers and leaders in university settings.
