Building national capacity, Vietnam
ICTE-UQ has partnered with the Vietnamese Government to help develop the human resources capacity required to deliver its National Foreign Languages 2020 Project (P2020). The large-scale, nation-wide initiative aims to ensure that young people in Vietnam are able to communicate, work and study in English by the end of the decade.
In addition to English language and English language teacher training programs, ICTE-UQ has delivered training programs at ICTE-UQ in Australia and in Hue, Hanoi, and Danang, Vietnam, for 15 Department of Education and Training (DOET) and 75 university and training college staff responsible for implementing P2020 initiatives and achieving project goals in their local areas.
The intensive training programs supported the participants to strengthen their project management, change management and strategic leadership skills and to develop the professional expertise required to ensure the success of the P2020.
