US academics underneath a solar array at UQ

ICTE-UQ, UQ Global Engagement, UQ Business School and UQ Universitas 21 partner, the University of Connecticut, have delivered a number of joint professional development programs to assist US academics expand their knowledge of contemporary sustainable business practices.

The two-week programs have included site visits to sustainability leaders in urban development, ecotourism, aviation, health, construction, and renewable energy in Sydney, Brisbane and on the Great Barrier Reef as well as workshops and meetings with UQ academic and professional staff involved in sustainability initiatives such as the CarbonGame, a UQ innovation which is used to teach businesses about emissions trading, and UQ’s Solar Array, Australia’s largest rooftop photovoltaic solar system.

The Green Business in Australia programs have been made possible with developmental support and assistance from the University of Connecticut Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), a division of the university established with funds from the US Department of Education to enhance US competitiveness.
