About the course

Red Chinese lanternsEnglish for Academic Communication : Master of Arts in Chinese Translation and Interpreting is a course designed to meet the English language needs of students from a non-English speaking background undertaking UQ MACTI studies.  The course will focus on language accuracy and idiomatic expression.

If you are undertaking UQ MACTI studies, and do not speak English as your first language, registration for this course is compulsory.

Semester 2, 2017 details

Sir Llew Edwards Building

All classes are held in the Sir Llew Edwards Building, Building 14 - see directions. You will be sent your room number by email before classes start.

Every Friday morning

Classes are held every Friday morning for 8 weeks from 4 August to 22 September 2017, 9.30am to 12.30pm.  


Online registration will open on Friday 14 July and close on Friday 28 July 2017.
