Ms Vicki Bos has been a TESOL language teacher and teacher trainer at the Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education at The University of Queensland (UQ-ICTE) since 2001.

Ms Bos has a wide variety of English teaching experience.  She has taught children of all ages (pre-primary to secondary) and adults of all levels from beginner to advanced.  She has spent time teaching English to adults and children in Japan in a range of public and private educational institutions. She has also spent time teaching university students and conducting teacher training workshops in Chile.  In Australia, she delivers classes to students from around the world, including such diverse countries as Saudi Arabia, China, Brazil and Indonesia.

She currently works mainly as a teacher trainer, conducting courses in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and English & Methodology for Teaching Purposes (EMTP) for educators. She has special professional interests in vocabulary learning, action research, student engagement, and language learning through music. She founded and conducts the UQ-ICTE Chorus, a student choir which regularly performs a wide repertoire of songs in English.

Vicki has a number of publications on these topics and has delivered conference papers and professional development sessions related to her research. In 2012, Ms Bos received a Special Commendation in the English Australia/Cambridge University Action Research awards for her action research project on the design and implementation of a pronunciation intervention program. In 2014, she won the English Australia Award for Contribution to Professional Practice for her conference paper on improving productive skills through choral singing.
