Vicki has been an English teacher and teacher trainer at ICTE-UQ since 2001.

Vicki has a wide variety of English teaching experience. She has taught children of all ages (preprimaryto secondary), and adults of all levels (beginner to advanced). She has spent time teaching English to adults and children in Japan, in a range of public and private educational institutions. In Australia, she delivers classes to students from around the world, including such diverse countries as Saudi Arabia, China, Brazil and Indonesia.

Vicki currently works mainly as a teacher trainer, conducting courses in English and Methodology for Teaching Purposes (EMTP) for educators in Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary teaching contexts.

She has special interests in vocabulary learning, and teaching English to young learners, and has delivered conference papers and professional development sessions on these areas.

In 2014, Vicki was the recipient of the prestigious English Australia conference presentation award for ‘Contribution to Professional Practice’ for her presentation ‘Perfect Harmony: The Choral Experience’.

The presentation was based on Vicki’s highly successful approach to teaching English through group singing.
