Jessica has worked as a TESOL language teacher for over 20 years. Beginning her teaching career in language schools in Indonesia and Spain, she moved into business and professional English for executives in global firms and language instruction at a tertiary institute for Marketing and Commerce.

Since joining ICTE in 2004, Jessica has worked on the development and delivery of the English for International Business Communication courses, Presentation courses, online writing materials for Ph.D candidates and English for Specific and General English purposes courses.

Jessica’s interest in student engagement can be seen through the number of student-run projects she initiates and runs. She co-facilitates an annual cancer fundraiser and student film workshops. She has worked with colleagues in Australia and the UK to understand how intense large-scale projects motivate students.

Jessica’s current special interest is in Action Research and she has just been accepted to work with Anne Burns on the English Australia Action Research Program 2018. This will give her the opportunity to carry out research to better inform her knowledge of project-based learning and the student experience.
