John joined the International Development team in 2016 to provide management oversight to projects in Southwest Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, as well as support to new and ongoing activities in the agricultural and economic growth sectors. 

Prior to joining UQ, he worked as a consultant providing technical assistance in agricultural input systems, policy analysis, project design, and program evaluation.  He has worked for the U.S. Agency for International Development as a Foreign Service Agriculture Officer based in Ghana and Uganda, as well as for development contractors like TetraTech-ARD. 

John started his career in international development in 2003 as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Tanzania, and studied agricultural extension, participatory planning, and community development at Cornell University.
